LINCOLN CHARTER EAGLES RUNNING: PROVIDENCE INVITATIONAL

I have decided to make the Providence Invitational on August 23rd a meet for EVERYONE to compete in. I feel this will give me a good gauge on where our team is early on with who will be Varsity, JV and Developmental. McAlpine is a great course that is relatively flat and very fast. It is also a great course to get a time on because it has been raced by so many XC runners through the years.

Leave LCS at 6:00 AM
Arrive at McAlpine 6:45 AM
Set up team area 6:45-7:00 AM
8:00 AM - Open Girls - Top 10
8:30 AM - Open Boys - Top 10
10:00 AM - JV Girls
10:30 AM - JV Boys
11:00 AM Pack up/Load up
11:15-11:45 AM Stop for lunch/eat
11:45 AM Leave for LCS
12:30 PM Return to LCS

MESSAGE FROM Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department

Dear Providence Invitational Coaches, Spectators and Participants,

The parking arrangement has changed slightly at McAlpine Creek Park for the 2014 Cross Country Season. I have listed some key information below.

·         Greylyn Business Park is no longer allowing open parking at their facility. Parking at this facility is at your own risk, and vehicles could be subject to tow.
·         Weather depending, roughly 200 parking spots have been added to McAlpine Creek Park, on the lower soccer field. Staff will be onsite to assist with parking in this area.
·         Overflow Parking Lot 1: Greenway Elementary School (8301 Monroe Road) will be used as the first overflow lot. Staff will hand out directions to this facility and shuttles will be available.
·         Overflow Parking Lot 2: Charlotte Secondary School (8601 McAlpine Park Drive) will be used as the alternate overflow lot. Staff will hand out directions to this facility and shuttles will be available.
·         I have attached a map with details on how to get to both locations from McAlpine Creek Park.
·         Please allow for a few extra minutes in your travel plans. Shuttles will be running non-stop and we will get you to the facility as quickly as possible.
